Ole Henriksen is one of those brands that people rave over constantly. It’s lauded for it’s clean organic ingredients and also for how well the products supposedly work. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but I’ve been wanting to dabble for a bit. Like when my skincare comes to me like this rather than me having to work for it, yeah well know I’m lazy.

Becca Ultimate Coverage Concealing Cream.

IMAG0228

I’ve yet to meet a Becca product that I absolutely hate. For me to truly hate something, it has to be spectacularly bad, like off the charts bad. Even then things that I initially hate, I come back to and try again, cause you can’t ever really be sure, ya know? Like you may be having a bad skin day, or year, I dunno. sometimes, the products still suck, but other times you just have to learn to work with it like Kevyn Aucoin SSE.

This came pretty close to a dislike, and more because of the price than anything else. The Becca Ultimate Coverage Concealing Cream clocks in at a hefty $32 for .16oz. Now Becca products are generally pretty expensive, but in this case I felt the performance didn’t live up to the price tag. For that much, it should perform like a superstar and fit me like second skin. It’s doesn’t precisely do that.

Jay Manuel Beauty Filter Finish Foundation.

IMAG0282

After writing this post, the site went live and you can now purchase products directly from Jaymanuelbeauty.com

You guys remember the Jays from America’s Next Top Model? The Ms And Mr?

Well, Mr Jay, that utterly, breathtakingly beautiful specimen, has debuted his own cosmetics line, and it’s available exclusively on HSN.com. Unlike Tyra’s line (also on HSN), which in my opinion is a hot mess from names to shades, and is so substandard, Jay’s products are actually good. I’d ordered a few things, but most of them were on backorder so the first things that I got were the Filter Finish Foundation, and two of the blushes. I didn’t care for the blushes, not because they weren’t good quality, (they are, highly pigmented and wonderfully buildable, smooth finishes) but because the swatches on the HSN site are so bad that they appear significantly darker than they are in real life, plus the cases were so flipping bulky and unwieldy. So I sent them back.

Although the Jay Manuel Beauty site isn’t up for purchases yet, you can still get information on the various products. The description of the Filter Finish Foundation from the Jay Manuel site;

Let Me Explain To You Why I’m Obsessed With Le Metier de Beaute

IMAG2382_2

This is possibly the foundation to end all foundation hunts. I promise you. The Le Metier de Beaute Flawless Finish foundation promises you all kinds of magic in a bottle, and trust me, it delivers.

The brand is really famous among makeup enthusiasts for the Kaleidoscope makeup kits, that run over $100 most of the time. I personally didn’t care for the Kaleidoscopes, I just didn’t like the packaging or the format. But I had heard that they had a beauty subscription (that will run you $348 up front for the whole year), called the vault and I wanted to check it up so I went to the website. By the time I got to it, the subscription was closed for the year, but they had items from previous boxes for sale. I personally didn’t know that their cosmetics range was so large, but picked up a few things one of them being this foundation. Of course based on the colour descriptions on the site, I got the wrong shade, but I legit don’t even care.

Sephora VIB Haul: Caudalie Beauty Elixir (Jason Wu Edition)

The Sephora VIB Rouge Sale was last weekend and the regular VIB sale was this weekend into today. I may have gone a little ham, on both sales. I used my own account for the Rouge sale and then my sisters for the VIB sale. What? She wasn’t gonna use it anyway. Much.

Anywhoo I shopped in store and online and so all of the items that I got haven’t arrived yet. I went mostly high end this year, in past years I’ve used the VIB sale to get all the Holiday sets that I’d been eyeing, but since I’m pretty much off holiday sets this year, I got a lot of brands and items that I’ve been absolutely dying to try. I’m in the process of trying everything, forming opinions and taking pictures at the moment, but I wanted to share with you guys this little gem that was the first thing that I tried and was wowed by.
