(Re-Upload) Burberry Beauty; Lip And Cheek Blooms

IMAG2074_1

Really, I got these because of the pretty. Like for real, if you look at these on any website and don’t immediately reach for your credit card (or you know, some willing sucker’s) then you have the fortitude of job my friend. I however, do not, so buy I did.

The Burberry Lip & Cheek Blooms are multi-use products for cheeks and (duh) lips. You guys know how I feel about multi-use products , I think most of them do one job well, and not the other so more often than not I don’t even bother to try them as lip products because of this is where they fail. In this case I didn’t either.

There are six colours available in the range, and of the six colours I got five Hydrangea, which I purchased after all the others and didn’t swatch because when I received it, it was a lot cooler looking than it looked online, so I gave it to someone and I really hate giving people things that my fingers have been in. The other colours I got were Peony, Orange Blossom, Poppy and Purple Tulip.

(Re-Upload) Burberry Beauty: Foundations

IMAG2062_1

I think it’s been pretty well documented that I am in fact, a foundation and blush hoarder. You know what though? I’m not even ashamed of it. The foundation came about because even though I moved south and permanently became my northern summer colour, out of habit I kept purchasing the lighter shade that I’d normally have used nine months out of the year, and being very confused by it. It was one of those things where, I’m in the habit of not buying something that I can only use three months out of the year, even though that three months had become the nine. Stupid, I know, but my brain was still in New York time so to speak. Then I rediscovered the peachy-ness in me undertones which set off a whole new hunt. But whatever, I’m rambling as per usual.

(Re-Upload) Burberry Beauty; A Worthy Obsession.

IMAG2062_1

I’ve been on a luxury makeup kick for a few months now. It started right after the wedding around the time of the Sephora VIB/Rouge sale, just before black Friday I think it was. I’m not really sure what came over me. It may have been the euphoria of getting married, or more likely (sorry love) the thrill of getting independent of wedding gifts, more than $400 in Sephora gift cards.

I’ve always said that I don’t see the point of luxury brands of makeup. I feel like the price points are more than a little bit ridiculous, but, I decided that I wanted to see if in fact there were a difference between regular ole brands like Too Faced and Burberry and it’s ilk.

(Re-Upload) All Bases Covered; Blushes and Such.

Ok, so this is the second part and this is going to include some illuminators and illuminating finishing powders. Blushes as well, but like I mentioned before, I just tend to get blushes wherever without sticking to brand, high or low, so this is just going to be a list of the best performing lost cost blushes that I’ve found to date, with a few comparisons. I’m not sure that I’ll be doing lipsticks or not, because to be honest, a huge chunk of the drug store lip products that I’ve gotten just do not perform all that great. If I do wind up doing that, it’ll be a much shorter post.

(REUPLOAD) Sephora VIB 2016: Burberry Cashmere Soft Matte Foundation.

IMAG5666

Burberry’s Cashmere matte foundation is one that’s debuted only once per year. You can get it from Sephora and other retailers between September and December every year, but after that it frikkin disappears for another year. You can usually find it on the Burberry website for a little bit longer, maybe  till the end of January. I’ve been stalking this for about two years now, don’t ask me why, something in the description just intrigued me. There are thirteen shades in the range, but where Burberry foundations are really spot on with their colour descriptions and the wear, sadly this one fell way short of my expectations from the brand.

(REUPLOAD) The Year in Makeup Favourites 2016.

Happy freaking new year ya’ll!! I promise in 2017, I’m gonna get my blogging life together. Maybe. Ok, probably not but I’m gonna try real hard. This year was just a complete a-hole that you wanted to throat punch constantly, and it ended with George Michael dying on frikkin CHRISTMAS DAY!!! Like, what the actual F%$K 2016?!

I drove to my sisters house jamming to Last Christmas (best Christmas song EVER), and came home to Twitter on fire. I always snicker when I hear people upset about celebrities that die, like what the hell, do you even know them? Can I just say though?

This one hurt, really badly. I’m sure he’d never remember me, but not only have I been absolutely in love with George Michael since I was ten, but I’ve met him a few times when I was working for a magazine and wound up repeatedly at NYFW much to my dismay.

He was friends with the original super models and a slew of the designers so he could usually be seen in the tents in the early 90’s. Talk about a ridiculously kind, humble, personable individual that always seemed slightly uncomfortable with the adulation he received. Beyond that, there was just some indefinable quality about his music, post Faith after he found his own voice, that’s simultaneously uplifting and despairing. Listen Without Prejudice Vol. I is still my favourite album. So really, is anyone reealllyy sad to see 2016 go?
