Tarte LE Tarteist Blush Palette.

I got this as part of my Ulta Platinum Haul, this isn’t going to be an overly long post as there isn’t a whole lot to say beyond ranting and screaming. I bought, I saw, I was epically disappointed.

This is one of the latest of the Tarteist collection, I love Tarte blushes so I jumped on the chance to get four of them in one slim palette for only $38, plus with points and a 20% off coupon, my entire order was less than $10 more than the price of this palette. I thought I’d made out like a bandit. Until I had the palette in hand.

The packaging itself is a gorgeous deep hot pink with gold accents and a full size mirror. The names of the shades are thankfully printed on the palette rather than on a plastic insert which has been a trend lately.

When I first looked at the four limited edition shades, my heart sank because I just knew that I wouldn’t be able to wear them. But that little hoarder that lives in my head piped up to remind me that Tarte blushes sometimes looked like on thing, but when applied turned into something else. I was excited to try two of the colours anyway, so I decided what the hell, I’ll just go ahead and play.

The look super pale in the pictures don’t they? But Tarte insists that they’re bold, bright colours suited to any complexion.

They’re not at all very pigmented, at least on my brown skin. The swatches that I got looked super pale, and even the darkest colour when applied failed to show up beyond looking quite powdery, the formula also kicks up a lot of dust. Every skin tone indeed.  Swatches below in two different lighting conditions, full sunlight and shadows, and trust me my camera is being extremely generous in the second picture, in real life the look more like the full sunlight pictures. Colours from left to right are;

Live (poppy coral)

Laugh (peachy coral with gold shimmer)

Love (nude mauve)

Dream (soft fuchsia)

Final Thoughts.

If you’re a medium brown to darker toned gal, feel quite free to pass these by. They’re not worth it in the least. If you’re a fairer sort, then these might work out wonderfully for you.
