Becca Ultimate Coverage Concealing Cream.

IMAG0228

I’ve yet to meet a Becca product that I absolutely hate. For me to truly hate something, it has to be spectacularly bad, like off the charts bad. Even then things that I initially hate, I come back to and try again, cause you can’t ever really be sure, ya know? Like you may be having a bad skin day, or year, I dunno. sometimes, the products still suck, but other times you just have to learn to work with it like Kevyn Aucoin SSE.

This came pretty close to a dislike, and more because of the price than anything else. The Becca Ultimate Coverage Concealing Cream clocks in at a hefty $32 for .16oz. Now Becca products are generally pretty expensive, but in this case I felt the performance didn’t live up to the price tag. For that much, it should perform like a superstar and fit me like second skin. It’s doesn’t precisely do that.

When Something Seems To Works For Every Brown Girl…But You.

IMAG0108

Those are the times when you feel wholly inadequate and like something is just really very off about you, cause dang what’s your problem anyway? And then you remember that all your (brown) girlfriends used to rave about MAC too, and that ish wasn’t too hot for you either. Yeah, so we’re talking about Sacha Cosmetics today. This brand out of Trinidad seems to be on the lips and HG lists of every brown beauty guru. I had heard about them for so long that I decided to do a haul.

Makeup Revolution New-Trals vs. Neutrals Palette

IMAG0347

Let’s get this out the way right off the top. This palette and I are not at all getting along. This is the palette that everyone of saying is another Makeup revolution dupe for the Sweet Peach palette. While that might be true (I don’t really see it it looks more like the ABH Modern Renaissance to me), but hey, what do I know?

L’Oreal’s New Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation.

IMAG4196

I love the Pro-Matte version of this foundation so much that when I heard glow I was all “hell yeah!”

This was part of my birthday haul, and boy did I ever haul. I did mostly drugstore stuff this year mostly because lately I’ve been getting a lot of really good drugstore stuff. Plus while almost all of the higher end brands are debuting very similar items, the drugstore brands have been quietly innovating and perfecting their formulas to compete, and some dominate. L’Oreal, has become my go too American drugstore brand, very rarely does anything that I purchase fail me, and I’ve been extremely happy with the foundations that I’ve gotten.

So I suppose I was due for a disappointment yeah?

Sephora VIB Haul 2016: Kevyn Aucoin The Etherealist Skin Illuminating Foundation and Friends.

IMAG5775

I picked up some Kevyn Aucoin during the VIB sale. I’d only really wanted to get one thing, the new foundation, but wanted to try the Neo Bronzer since the summer so I went ahead and got it along with the new-ish Guardian Angel highlighter. I dunno, over the last few years or so, I’ve not really been into KA as much as I once was. The brand just seems to be lacking in innovation as well as quality, but I guess I was nostalgic here. Lemme tell you though? This foundation is quite possibly the worst foundation I’ve tried this year, and I’ve tried a lot if you’ve been keeping track.

Sephora VIB 2016: Burberry Cashmere Soft Matte Foundation.

IMAG5666

Burberry’s Cashmere matte foundation is one that’s debuted only once per year. You can get it from Sephora and other retailers between September and December every year, but after that it frikkin disappears for another year. You can usually find it on the Burberry website for a little bit longer, maybe  till the end of January. I’ve been stalking this for about two years now, don’t ask me why, something in the description just intrigued me. There are thirteen shades in the range, but where Burberry foundations are really spot on with their colour descriptions and the wear, sadly this one fell way short of my expectations from the brand.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Palette Surreal Ligh…Umm…Hard Pass

IMAG4860

C’moooonnn man!!

One step forward, five back huh? This palette was so much fail in one space that I just can’t. Forget about the size, I was prepared because even though last year’s didn’t bother me too much, I did say that it wasn’t worth the $80 price tag. This year, was all new colours and I’m not above throwing handfuls of cash at something that I really want.

What’s New At The Drugstore+Dupe Alert! Makeup Revolution Retro Luxe Matte Lip Kits.

IMAG6787

Makeup Revolution has a bunch of new stuff available on the Ulta site, and I should stress though that it’s only new to Ulta because a lot of them have been available since late December, early January. These are obviously a dupe for the Kylie Lips Kits of which I own none, and never will, but the idea of having a perfectly paired lip liner without having to purchase it separately intrigues me so I got all the available colours. As of right now there are only five shades in the Retro Luxe Matte range available from Ulta. Noble, Echelon, Regal, Reign and Grandee.

What’s New At The Drugstore: L’Oreal Infallible Total Coverage and Infallible Paints Blush Palette.

IMAG6026

Ok, so first off the pictures for this post are all over the damn place. I purchased, returned, then repurchased a few items. Well, not a few. a lot. Things aren’t pictured together, and I even forgot to take pictures and swatches of some things. The disappointment was strong in this portion of the haul people. This was all part of the Ulta haul that I did a few weeks ago, which was kinda messy but Ulta loves me, so they fixed it instantly.

L’Oreal is the drugstore brand that I’m most familiar with, I tend to purchase everything new that debuts. I don’t always review it, but I do purchase a lot of it. With the exception of the Pro Glow, I’ve loved every foundation that I’ve tried. Enter this joker to ruin the love affair.
