There are a few oils that are quite common that many people already know the benefits of. But there are still a great many others that aren’t as well known. Below we’ll be talking about just a few of the most popular choices on the market at the moment, ones that are usually included in many different high-end and luxury skin care products.

I’m oil obsessed and think that everyone should use an oil rather than a moisturiser so, we’re gonna take a look at some of the benefits you will get from using a facial oil that most likely wouldn’t get with a moisturiser by showcasing some of my favourite oils.

Ole Henriksen is one of those brands that people rave over constantly. It’s lauded for it’s clean organic ingredients and also for how well the products supposedly work. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but I’ve been wanting to dabble for a bit. Like when my skincare comes to me like this rather than me having to work for it, yeah well know I’m lazy.

Valentia Does It Again!

Remember last year when I did that post in the Valentia Vitamin C serum that set me over the moon? Yeah, it was wonderful, and so when the company reached out to me again to test s few of their new products, I was thrilled.

I was sent two items, the True Glow Eye serum and the Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask. One of the things that I really love about Valentia is their ingredients list. Like, seriously everything used can be listed on the back of the box in regular sized font. No names that I can barely pronounce and things that are already familiar. The ingredients list on this is ridiculously simple, Japanese, Aloe Vera, Seabuckthorn Oil (that I’ve previously raved about), Japanese Green Tea and Rosehip Seed Oil. Yeah, just that.

Listen, the hype is real ya’ll.

You ever read reviews from bloggers or a website and you’re all like “nah, all those reviews can’t be legit” ? Let me just put it this way. The day Valentia sends me a product that either doesn’t work or I have an allergic reaction to it, my world is gonna implode. Flowers will cease to bloom, puppies and babies will no longer be adorably and cuddly and I’ll give up on beauty entirely. Ok, well maybe not that last part, that’s just too drastic. What I’m trying to say is everything they’ve sent me so far has been wondrous.

Boscia Charcoal Makeup Melter Cleansing Oil Balm.

IMAG0124

I’ve been kind of skin care crushing lately. Not for any particular reason, since my skin has been phenomenal lately. The reason for that? I recently went freelance, that means that I’m no longer wearing makeup to work everyday. It also means sadly that I have less time dedicated to writing on the blog since now I’m writing other peoples stuff. Because I’m not wearing makeup daily though, it means that my skin has more time to recover when something goes wrong and the odd issue crops up. So I’m basically crushing on maintenance items like scrubs, masks, serums and such.

Throw Out All Your Expensive Serums. This Is All You’ll Ever Need.

She’s back! It’s been a rough couple weeks, and I’m still trying to hack up a lung most of the time. But I’m lucid at least.

But seriously, about that title, I promise it’s true.

You all know that I love serums. To death. I’m always up for trying a new one. I’ve used everything from $10 NYX serums, to the $150 Michael Todd Knu Serum. The latest serum that I had been using was the Lancôme Visionnaire which clocks in at a lovely $89 plus tax. It was so good though, that after I finished the bottle that New Beauty sent me, I was more than willing to fork over the loot to Sephora to have a new one of my very own.

The One Where Sunday Riley’s Tinted Primer is This Brown Girls Dream Come True.

IMAG2604_1

Listen, if I’ve ever met a tinted primer before, it wasn’t  good enough for me to remember it. This thing here though? Everything.

I’d come across the Sunday Riley line a while back, but I was mostly interested in the skin care items, particularly the Ceramic Slip Cleanser so somehow or the other I missed the cosmetics. When I finally wound up getting the cleanser about two months ago, I came across Effortless Breathable Tinted Primer and I was enamoured enough with the idea that I picked it up.

About that Ceramic Slip cleanser though…unless you have extreeeemly oily skin? Don’t even do it to yourself. One wash with it at the end of a very long and greasy day, netted me a week of having to do repair in the way of adding moisture back into my skin. No Nope. Nuh-uh. In any case, I’ve crossed off almost all the skin care from my list, just reading the ingredients on the ones that I did want to try, convinced me that I’m be buying a plane ticket to cystic acne land and booking an extended stay. Too expensive.
