Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation.

IMAG7930

I’ve been doing a lot of foundation samples lately. Sephora has been throwing them at me and I’ve just been out here catching them like, yep, ok thanks. Because I’m a foundation hoarder and hey, if I don’t have to buy before I try without going into a store? Yeah I’m there for that. The thing about foundation samples though, at least the deluxe ones often offered by Sephora and other places, is that usually they don’t go beyond tan. So a dusky girl like myself, is often SOL.

Fiona Stiles Is Low-Key Some Of The Best Makeup That’s Being Discontinued…

IMAG7784_1

When Fiona Stiles hit Ulta about…I wanna say maybe a year and a half ago? I was intrigued. I liked the look of the packaging, and the colour combinations looked interesting. But…I’d never heard of Fiona Stiles. Like who was this chick and why was I supposed to care that she had a makeup line now? The price point became the second issue for me. I’m not about to drop almost forty dollars on a single product from a brand that I know nothing about, that’s barely been reviewed. Nah.

Sephora Cool Neutral + Editorial Pro Palettes

IMAG7907_1 (1)

Y’all, I went and did a whole a$$ Sephora collection haul in the last few weeks. That’s what I seemed to be in the mood for. I got some lip stuff. Some face stuff. Some eye stuff. Just a whole lot of stuff. One of the first items that I purchased was two of the new Pro Palettes. I got the Neutral Cool palette and the Editorial. I almost got all three and picked up the Warm Palette as well, but a little voice of reason prevailed reminding me that I look trash in warm shades that aren’t foundation.

Now everyone is losing their minds over the warm palette. Just about every review I’ve seen features that palette or the Editorial, but surprisingly enough, not the cool. This is really a shame because once I got past the initial dissatisfaction of the seemingly boring colours, that palette is stellar.

Lottie London Is @Ulta. Olive Girls Need To Give It A Whirl.

IMAG7775

I swear though, I just troll through beauty sites trying to buy stuff. I mean, I have to be trying cause I don’t in fact need a damn thing. You may never have heard of Lottie London, don’t worry you’re not alone. It’s a drugstore brand, and from what I can tell it’s British. Don’t quote me though, because I’m still a little confused as to their origins. In any case, Lottie London is pretty inexpensive. The most dear thing in the line are the shadow palettes and those clock in at twelve bucks.

IT Cosmetics Confidence In Your Glow Blushing Bronzer.

IMAG0243_1

I like the idea of IT Cosmetics. The reality is often something else though for a couple of reasons. If you follow Jackie Aina on YouTube, she details how the foundations are too light for her. The one foundation she had been able to use, left her looking corpsey. I can use the last shade in most of their lines, Rich, pretty well. However I do get the grey cast that she talks about as well. The undertones on their foundation products for deeper complexions are…lacking.

Becca Mineral Blushes!

IMAG1624

I’ve become a true enthusiast of Becca cosmetics. They’re so flawless and subtle, it’s hard not to love pretty much everything that the brand debuts. The only thing that generally stops me is that it’s also pricey.

The mineral blushes aren’t new, but up to this point I hadn’t found a shade that I really loved. I’d tried Songbird, but since it was so peachy at the base, it mostly disappeared on me.
