Holiday 2017: The LE Diorific Matte Fluid Lip & Cheek Velvet Bangs Just as Hard as Last Year.

IMG_20171020_144613304

Last year I absolutely fell in love with the Dior Matte cheek fluids once I saw them on the Sephora site. They were even more gorgeous in person when I went on one of my rare jaunts into an actual store to see them in real life, you can read my review and see swatches of the shades from my review last year here. Last year I only wound up picking up two of the four limited edition shades and this year was no different.

All Bases Covered. Liquid And Powder Foundations.

I usually do some sort of roundup at least once a year. Mostly. Sometimes it’s foundation, but mostly I’ve been doing a lot of skin care for the last few. Not that anything is wrong with that, but since I hoard foundations and blush, why not that instead? When I do a foundation roundup, it’s to say which ones I liked and didn’t like and why not. And that’s because often times I haven’t reviewed most of the of the foundations that I’ve bought. I’ve gotten better about that, so this time we’re gonna do something different. Since I’ve been experimenting more with drug store foundations, I figured that I would show you which ones compare to the mid-tier and luxury brands I’ve also purchased. I’m not going to go into the properties of each and why I like them or not, that would take way to long, and I’ve already reviewed most of them. Instead, I’ll give you the high end brands and the drugstore formulas that in my opinion correspond and add links to the reviews. Once again, my opinion, you may not agree. I’m not sure if I’ll be splitting them up into powders and liquids or what, that all depends on how long this particular post gets, we’ll see at the end. I was going to do blushes as well, but realised that for the most part, I don’t really purchase a lot of high end blushes cause I just love blush so I acquire them wherever I can. But we’re also gonna see how that turns out.

Sephora VIB Sale 2016: Dior Diorific LE Matte Liquid Lip & Cheek Velvet Colour.

IMAG5517_1

These were some of the items that I picked up in store. I really wanted to get these in person because I needed to know if they were pigmented enough for me. Reviews notwithstanding, pigmented for someone of a fair complexion is very different for someone my complexion, just as what I find pigmented won’t fly for someone much darker. And also, these sold out moments after going online during the Rouge sale. As it was, when I went into Sephora, there were only three of the four shades available, luckily the one that I didn’t want, was the one that was out.

The Year in Makeup Favourites 2016.

Happy freaking new year ya’ll!! I promise in 2017, I’m gonna get my blogging life together. Maybe. Ok, probably not but I’m gonna try real hard. This year was just a complete a-hole that you wanted to throat punch constantly, and it ended with George Michael dying on frikkin CHRISTMAS DAY!!! Like, what the actual F%$K 2016?!

I drove to my sisters house jamming to Last Christmas (best Christmas song EVER), and came home to Twitter on fire. I always snicker when I hear people upset about celebrities that die, like what the hell, do you even know them? Can I just say though?

This one hurt, really badly. I’m sure he’d never remember me, but not only have I been absolutely in love with George Michael since I was ten, but I’ve met him a few times when I was working for a magazine and wound up repeatedly at NYFW much to my dismay.

He was friends with the original super models and a slew of the designers so he could usually be seen in the tents in the early 90’s. Talk about a ridiculously kind, humble, personable individual that always seemed slightly uncomfortable with the adulation he received. Beyond that, there was just some indefinable quality about his music, post Faith after he found his own voice, that’s simultaneously uplifting and despairing. Listen Without Prejudice Vol. I is still my favourite album. So really, is anyone reealllyy sad to see 2016 go?
