Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro Palettes.

IMAG3684_1

I’ve been doing a lot of high end hauling lately, and while it’s been fun discovering the benefits, differences and advantages of luxury products, I realise that not everyone can or is willing to hand over hundreds of dollars for just a few pieces. Trust me, I’m also a fan of getting a whole bunch of stuff for $80 versus just getting one thing. When my boxes arrive and I open them to a bunch of stuff, my happy place gets happier. So I decided to take it down a thousand and bring you guys some really awesome drugstore products that only really differ from higher end ones in the form of their price tags, starting with these.

Things Worth A Second Glance: Charlotte Tilbury.

IMAG0300_1-1

I’m quite aware that I said the Charlotte Tilbury line wasn’t for me, thank you very much.

But sometimes…just…

Have you ever gone back and looked at something and saw it wholly differently? And dare I say more beautiful that you had originally suspected? That’s what happened here.

Makeup Revolution X British Beauty Blogger Fortune Favours The Brave Eye Shadow Palette.

IMAG0196_1

I’ve been banging around with this chick for around a week now, and let me tell you it’s been fun, but I was completely unprepared for the pigmentation and subsequent blending struggles. Completely my fault tho, so…

I don’t know if you guys are familiar with her, since the name seems rather generic yeah? But British Beauty Blogger is one of my personal favourite bloggers. I like her because she gets a bit of everything, skincare, hair care, makeup and she’s thorough. She covers all skin tones and skin types, drug store and high end brands. The lady Jane knows her stuff.

So I was pretty stoked when I realised that she and MR had got together and had a love child. Listen, I wasn’t prepared. I thought I was, but really? I wasn’t, not for all that colour. First tip, don’t dig your brush into the pans, you’ll regret it. You’re just not grown enough for all that pigmentation.

Soap & Glory Glow All Out Illuminating Finishing Powder, Plus Too Faced Candlelight Glow In Warm Glow.

IMAG3701

I’ve never tried any Soap & Glory products. They’re like the British drugstore version of Benefit with a very retro look and feel, and colour wise, they’re about as inclusive it seems. In any case it was there and at only $15 each, I had a hard time choosing between this, and two blushes from the brand. Since I’m rapidly becoming a finishing powder/highlighter fiend I went with this.

Makeup Revolution New-Trals vs. Neutrals Palette

IMAG0347

Let’s get this out the way right off the top. This palette and I are not at all getting along. This is the palette that everyone of saying is another Makeup revolution dupe for the Sweet Peach palette. While that might be true (I don’t really see it it looks more like the ABH Modern Renaissance to me), but hey, what do I know?

Collective Vacation Haul: Illamasqua Vanitas Rose Gold Collection.

IMAG4494

For some reason I don’t see a lot of people reviewing Illamasqua. It’s probably because it’s super expensive and there’s no place to buy in the states. But I think I mentioned before if you buy something from Illamasqua.com and it hits a hundred dollars, (which ain’t hard in the least) you get your order in two days cause they ship it express. I didn’t however, purchase this from the Illamasqua site cause I dithered around so much that Beauty Bay finally got it in stock, and the deal was too good to pass up despite the fact that unless you spend like $400 on BB you’re gonna get your stuff in 13 days the end, unless you pay thirty dollars for express.

But this was too good a deal. The palette is $59 but BB has it for $42. The lipsticks are $30 but BB has them for $21.40, because of that I was only able to get two colours cause the rest were sold out, but the two colours that I got were the ones that I really wanted anyway.

Dupe Alert! Makeup Revolution’s New Ultra Strobing Cream & Blur Primer…So Worth It!

IMAG0170

So loooong after I purchased these, I realised something. The Blur Primer is a dupe for either the YSl Touche Eclat Blur Primer which is $52 or the Guerlain L’Or Pure Radiance Primer which is $74. And although both rock, this is just as good for a whole lot less, in truth it’s closer in consistency and performance to the YSl and I actually prefer this one, YSL primers and I don’t seem to mesh well. Since I have to re-upload my blog life, I thought I’d just  update this post to reflect that, also when I purchased this it was only available on the MUR website, it’s now available at Ulta.com. You’re welcome and enjoy.

These were a total whim, I mean I got them because they were new, and I wasn’t really sure what a strobing cream was all about and I had to know, just had to. The primer I got because at that particular time I hated all of the ones I had, it bes like that sometimes.
