Is anyone else hella exhausted by all the sales and new stuff that seems to be dropping daily? Hell I know I am. The Sephora Rouge/VIB sale just freaking ended and here we are at Thanksgiving and now Black Friday once again. I ain’t buying a damn thing else, not least of all because between the Rouge sale and Ulta, I’ve already dropped a tonne of money in the last two weeks.
Hey guys, so we’re gonna be changing things up a bit and it’s all detailed in the video below. Hope you like the changes, I just think that I have to go this way now because it’s simply easier for me at this time.
I am not into drugstore makeup or accessories, I’ve tried and with very few exceptions such as European drugstore items and the rare American stuff, I’m just not here for most of it. But Walgreens in like my one stop shop, I go there almost daily cause I can find everything I need from soy milk (cheaper than the grocery store at that) to bath and home items.
So when I went in the other day to get something and no one was at the counter, I started twirling to the music in my head as I’m wont to do when I forget that I’m out in the world and should hide my weirdness, and immediately stopped when on my last twirl my eyes landed on this brush set, and then the big ass 50% off sign right above it.
Now, of most drugstore stuff I tend to like Wet n Wild a lot, I’ve bought over the last year almost all the collections that they’ve debuted. I haven’t blogged most of it unfortunately, but Wet n Wild has some part in my weekly makeup games. Five minutes after spotting it I had walked out with it because pretty and cheap. I was a little concerned about the performance because well, it’s a drugstore makeup brush set, but I rationalised that for $15, I could live with the disappointment.
So I’ve become something of a fan of BareMinerals in the last year or so, I don’t precisely remember what led me to this brand that was not only completely off my radar but on my “oh hell no, never ever buy list”. My issue with BareMinerals was that I’d used it when they first debuted and only had powder products, in which Bismuth Oxychloride was one of the main ingredients and to which I am highly allergic. Plus they looked like a really dated brand, for people my mum’s age so…
Last year I absolutely fell in love with the Dior Matte cheek fluids once I saw them on the Sephora site. They were even more gorgeous in person when I went on one of my rare jaunts into an actual store to see them in real life, you can read my review and see swatches of the shades from my review last year here. Last year I only wound up picking up two of the four limited edition shades and this year was no different.
Becca has a few holiday offerings at the moment, but this is in my opinion the only one worth getting. I dunno, but I feel like at this point Becca has very little to offer in terms of new or innovative, like literally how many shimmering skin perfectors can you come out with? I mean…I know that’s your thing and whatnot, but for real? All of the new offerings are some form of shimmering skin perfector gift set, the exception being this little ditty here and while it does have skin perfectors it, that isn’t all it has.
So remember how I’d said that I was waiting for the rest of the Fenty Collection to drop before I did the foundation review? Well this is what I was waiting for, the Limited Edition holiday collection. I wanted this enough to actually walk into Sephora the morning that it dropped, and it was as much of a nightmare as I thought it would be. People everywhere, I got to the store about an hour after it opened and no lie there was only one lipstick from the collection left.
